Brooklands Aircraft Portfolios
The Brooklands Aircraft Portfolio series looked at significant aircraft from World War Two. The contents is not an original narrative but a compilation of contemporary articles from magazines such as 'Flight' or 'The Aeroplane' between 1938 and 1944, and more modern articles in 'Aeroplane Monthly' between 1976 and 1985. The articles include technical descriptions, cutaway drawings, b+w photos, genealogy, combat & operational reports etc. Some of the illustrations have suffered in the facsimile process, and there is hardly any colour, but the text gives a good impression for what things were like when these aircraft were actually in service.
