The Country


Nicaragua is the largest country of Central America. It is bordered by Honduras to the north and northwest, by the Caribbean Sea to the east, by Costa Rica to the south and southwest and by the Pacific Ocean to the west. It is located between 84° to 87° western geographic longitude and 11° to 15° northern geographic latitude and has an area of 120,254 square kilometres (46,434 square miles). The latitude and longitude of the capital, Managua, are about 86°19′ W and 12°09′ N.
