‘Aeroplane Monthly’ concentrated on the period 1930-1960 in the development of aviation, with an emphasis on the countries of the former British Empire. History, nostalgia and preservation news comprised most of the content. Illustrations include colour and b+w archive photos and 3-view line drawings. It also used a significant amount of material drawn from the archives of the defunct weekly magazine ‘The Aeroplane’, together with a lot of new original material. In later years each issue averaged 64 pages. There was often good coverage of rarely publicised civil and military types.

First published in May 1973 under the title ‘Aeroplane Monthly’, the ‘Monthly’ part of the title was dropped in 1999. See ‘Aeroplane’ for details of this publication.
