A quarterly spotters magazine published by the Spotting Group Volkel (SGV). SGV was founded in 1985 as an association under Dutch law for aircraft spotters, focusing on military aviation. SGV has become one of the largest aviation enthusiasts groups in the Netherlands with almost 400 members. SGV publishes a magazine, called AIM. It is published four times a year, and each issue has between 70 and 90 pages.
The magazine is in the Dutch language, and the editorial team tries to produce an article for each of the following sections: Volkel movements (Wat hebben we gemist in..) – Volkel movements of the last three months, Past times (Vervlogen Volkel tijden) – Volkel movements of the past, Aircraft recognition (Typeherkenning) – A detailed look at a specific aircraft type and all its versions, Airfield directions (Follow Me) – A detailed guide to the air bases in a specific country, Technology (Technische Dienst) – A look at the technology of military aviation, Badges and units (ID) – The badges and markings of a specific air arm, Funny stories (Spot er maar mee) – Some humorous and less humorous spotters’ stories, Trip reports (Globetrotters) – Extensive reports of spotting trips all over the world, SGV visits (Roadrunners) – Reports of group visits organised by Spotting Group Volkel, Various (Varia) – Articles of a highly varied nature.
