Air North was founded in 1960 by staff members of Newcastle Airport. A monthly magazine is published which focuses on aviation in the North East and the regions three airports (Newcastle, Teesside and Carlisle). The magazine features comprehensive airport news and movement reports, together with news from smaller airfields and landing strips in the area. There is a comprehensive military section, plus base visit reports, overseas trip reports and feature articles on historical and contemporary aviation events.
The magazine consists of 48-60 A5 pages, with a colour cover since 2000, and is illustrated by numerous b+w photos.
