‘Air & Space Power Journal’ is the professional journal of the United States Air Force. It originally published between 1947 and 1987 as a bi-monthly under the title ‘Air University Review’. It was designed to serve as an open forum for presenting and stimulating innovative thinking on military doctrine, strategy, tactics, force structure, readiness, and other national defense matters. In 1987 it was renamed ‘Airpower Journal – the Professional Journal of the United States Air Force’ [ISSN 0897-0823] and began to be published quarterly. In 2000 it was renamed ‘Aerospace Power Journal’ {ISSN 1535-4245] and in 2003 it was again renamed ‘Air & Space Power Journal’.
The magazine contains articles on air force history, air campaigns, the role of air power, aviation technology, geopolitics, strategy etc. Articles from all back issues are available on the official website, and a comprehensive index is also available.
