‘Airfix Model World’ was launched in late 2010 to take advantage of the resurgence of interest in plastic kit modelling that occurred during the late 2000s. Published monthly, ‘Airfix Model World’ aims to be the complete guide to the world of scale modelling, making it essential reading for modellers with all levels of experience. Focusing on model aircraft, ‘Airfix Model World’ also features cars, ships, sci-fi and space, armour and figures. It features the latest news, reviews, handy step-by-step tips, plus the chance to ‘Ask the Experts’ to improve readers modelling skills.
The original ISSN associated with this title, 1471-0587, was subsequently changed for an unknown reason. Each issue comprises 98 pages, with colour illustrations on nearly every page. The Battle and Build feature describes the service use of a particular aircraft type and then shows how to model it. The In Focus feature concentrates on a paticular aircraft type, accompanied by a 4-view colour drawing in the centrespread. By late 2012 this magazine had become the biggest selling modelling monthly in Europe.
