The full title was ‘Airfoil – A Journal Dedicated to Flight’. ‘Airfoil’ was a historical aviation magazine with a heavily pictorial content. It was published by S. W. Sheflin and associate editors R.P. Lutz, Jim Crow and Steven Blake – all well know German aviation historians. The main feature articles were on Luftwaffe and USAAF subjects. Each issue contained 42 A4 size glossy pages. Typically most of the contents was devoted to photogaphs – about equal b+w and colour – plus 2 pages of colour profile drawings. The first issue was dated Winter 1983, and only 5 issues were published – the last in 1987.
