Publisher: Flightline Magazine
Country: United States Language: English
Main Genre: Military Aviation
‘Flightline’ was the only magazine printed in the United States that concentrated on North American military aviation after 1945. It was subtitled ‘The Magazine of North American Military Aviation’. Each issue featured over a dozen articles on current, or near current, US military aviation topics. The magazine was well produced, using high quality paper with many b+w/colour photos which were often printed in a large size.
‘Flightline’ was first published in 1992. Intended to be quarterly, in fact only one or two issues normally appeared in any given year. No issues were produced in 1998, 1999 or 2002. The last issue produced was No. 16, which was dated Spring-Summer 2005. This last issue was also made available in a download format, in an attempt to reduce production costs. Despite announced plans for annual and eventually bi-annual publication, no further issues have appeared.
Not connected to the American Airlines pilot’s magazine of the same name.
