IPMS UK supports a number of Special Interest Groups (SIG). These include the following which publish magazines or newsletters:

'Bent Throttles'
[IPMS UK, ISSN n/a]

Founded in 1993, the IPMS Racing & Record Aircraft Special Interest Group is committed to the modelling of air racing and record-breaking aircraft of all eras, for example modern Reno racers, Schneider Trophy racers, World Speed Record breakers and Golden Age pylon racers. It publishes a quarterly newsletter called "Bent Throttles", which contains kit reviews, build reports, scale documentation, book reviews and news from the current air racing and modelling scene. It contains on average 16–18 pages of material, mainly produced by the members. Issue 1 was dated December 1994. There is a contents listing and some download-able articles on their web site.

'Harrier Special Interest Group'
[IPMS UK, ISSN n/a]

The Harrier SIG was started by Phil Cater in 1993 and relaunched by Nick Greenall in April 2002 - the 20th anniversary of the departure of the Falklands Task Force. It provides IPMS members with a forum for exchanging Harrier information and promoting Harrier products. From late 2003 the group also covers the JSF V/STOL fighters. Between Winter 1993 and Summer 1999 (at least) a quarterly magazine was published, featuring Harrier news and reviews together with modelling articles and details of the full-size aircraft. It is not clear if this magazine is still current or has been replaced by the website.

'Rotor Torque'
[IPMS UK, No ISSN]

The World Helicopter special interest group (SIG) published a quarterly colour magazine. Launched in 1986 under the title ROTOR, it was a scale modelling magazine dedicated to helicopters. It featured articles on full-size machines, with detail views, 3-view drawings and kit reviews. In 1995 the magazine appears to have been relaunched with colour printing under the title Rotor Torque. It seems to have stopped publication in late 2001.
