A number of the smaller aviation-related societies focus on a single topic. These include the following:

'Archiv'
[Gruppe 66, ISSN n/a]

This was the quarterly magazine of Gruppe 66, the International Society of German Aviation Historians. First appearing in 1966 the magazine was initially duplicated, then from No. 9 (Jan-Mar 1968) it was printed. 56 pages, 20 cm x 25 cm format with line drawings and photographs, the magazine mainly covered the WW2 period.

'Blenheim Society Journal'
[The Blenheim Society, ISSN n/a]

The Blenheim Society exists to promote interest in the Bristol Blenheim bomber aircraft, and raises funds to help keep the airworthy example at IWM Duxford flying. It publishes a regular journal. No further information.

'IAC News'
[International Auster Club, No ISSN]

The International Auster Club was founded in 1973 and publishes the 'International Auster Club News' quarterly magazine. It's purpose is to provide a link between the Club’s international membership and to encourage support for Auster aircraft (including Taylorcraft and Beagle). Volume 26 No.2 was dated May 2003.

'Islander News'
[B.N. Historians, No ISSN]

Published 'B.N. Historians Newsletter' monthly, 1974-1983. Covering the Britten-Norman Islander and derivatives: News, production details, post delivery notes, photos. Also published 'Islander Quarterly'. Both replaced in 1983 by 'Islander News'. This title is issued quarterly in March, June, September and December. Each issue is A5 size with 16-20 pages, with 2-4 in colour and additional b&w pictures throughout.

'Mustang World'
[Mustang International, No ISSN]

The quarterly journal of Mustang International, the Association of P-51 Historians and Rebuilders. 24 pages on restoration, unlimited racing, flight safety and history. Managing editor was Paul Coggan. Issue No.6 was dated May 1985.

'Newsletter'
[D.H. Aircraft Museum Trust, ISSN 0966-352X]

The supporters group for the de Havilland Aircraft Heritage Centre at London Colney in Hertfordshire publishes 'Newsletter' twice a year. It features Museum news, Restoration news, Letters to the Editor and a number of feature articles relating to de Havilland aircraft and the de Havilland company. A4 size glossy magazine with 18 pages, illustrated by b+w photos. Issue No.7 was dated June 2003.

'Scramble'
[The Battle of Britain Historical Society, ISSN n/a]

The Battle of Britain Society is dedicated to keeping the memory of the Battle alive, through educating younger people and by commemorating the men and women who fought in the Battle. It publishes a monthly newsletter/magazine on the activities of the Society which includes recollections and articles contributed by members on various aspects of the Battle - most of which had never appeared in history books.
The magazine started off in the mid 1990s as a newsletter comprising half a dozen plain A4 pages kept together with a single staple. In 1999 a new format was introduced which saw the introduction of a magazine-style format with a glossy blue cover. A possible switch to a quarterly publication is being considered.

'Spitfire'
[The Spitfire Society, ISSN n/a]

The Spitfire Society was founded in March 1984 and has the three aims of encouraging interest in aeronautics and aviation history; researching and assessing the educational and historical value of information relating to the Spitfire; and to disseminate accurate information of historical and educational value on aeronautical subjects by means of presentations, seminars, lectures and the publication of books and articles.
The Society publishes a magazine called 'Spitfire' twice a year. The magazine was originally called 'D.C.O.' (for Duty Carried Out) but changed to the present title around early 2003 to reflect changes in the Society's membership composition. The contents comprises a wide range of Spitfire-related feature articles - operations, restoration, flying the Spitfire etc - plus a round-up of society activities and a letters page.

'The Catalina News'
[The Catalina Society, ISSN n/a]

The Catalina Society is the supporters club for the PBY-5A Catalina. It's aim is to keep the UK-based example of this old flying boat airworthy. 'The Catalina News' is published three times a year and contains many fascinating articles and the latest news concerning the aircraft. Included are features on World War II operations and the men who flew Cats', news of Catalina operations worldwide and flying boats in general, plus exclusive photographs, a letters page and a 'Cat Contact' column - where old comrades can locate each other and members can advertise for information or help.

'The Flying M'
[Society of Friends of the RAF Museum, ISSN 0262-8201]

The Society of Friends of the RAF Museum exists to support the RAF Museum, and to foster an interest in aviation and aeronautical history. It was first formed in 1971. Members receive a quarterly journal 'The Flying M' which keeps Members informed of the Society's activities and the work of the Museum.

'The Growler'
[The Shackleton Association, No ISSN]

The Shackleton Association was founded in October 1987 to bring together former air and ground crews and those interested in the preservation and history of the Avro Shackleton maritime patrol aircraft. It publishes a quarterly magazine called 'The Growler'. The contents comprises Association activities, preservation news, anecdotes and memories of the Shackleton, various feature articles and a letters page. A4 size magazine, with 18 pages in each issue. Illustrated with b+w and colour photos. Issue 59 was dated Winter 2002.

'The Moth'
[de Havilland Moth Club, ISSN n/a]

Magazine of the de Havilland Moth Club, published quarterly during the first week of March, June, September and December. The club was established in 1975. Typical contents comprises: Moths Around The World - news of members activities and events, Moth Snaps - vintage photos, Moth Chat - letters to the editor, Moth Market - wanted and sales ads, plus 3-4 feature articles covering a range of topics including pilot's impressions of a Moth type, technical descriptions of de Havilland aircraft, and accounts of notable flights in Moths. Glossy A4 size 24 page magazine, with colour covers and several b+w photos inside. Edited by Richard T Riding and Stuart McKay.
The Club also publishes 'Moth Minor', a roughly quarterly newsletter which carries news of a more domestic nature, including details of forthcoming Club events and activities etc.
