'Asahi Journal'

Japanese Information International (JII) is a Special Interest Group (SIG) associated with the International Plastic Modellers Society (IPMS). JII is dedicated to the study of the Japanese military aviation 1900-1945. It gathers historians, modellers and enthusiasts from around the world, including top experts on Japanese aviation.

JII publishes a magazine called 'Asahi Journal' roughly twice a year. Each issue covers a particular military aircraft, ship or armour subject in depth. It also includes regular features, such as kit and book reviews and minor news and research results. In addition, Open Forum provides members with a platform to ask questions and provide answers, often beyond the scope of published references. The magazine is illustrated with original line drawings, about 24 b&w profiles, and photographs. Recent issues have featured one page illustrated in colour. 'Asahi Journal' publishes information not seen in English elsewhere. Vol.4 No.4 was dated December 1, 2001. No evidence of publication continuing after this issue.

'Airfoil'
[Airfoil Publications, ISSN ? ]

The full title was 'Airfoil - A Journal Dedicated to Flight'. 'Airfoil' was a historical aviation magazine with a heavily pictorial content. It was published by S. W. Sheflin and associate editors R.P. Lutz, Jim Crow and Steven Blake - all well know German aviation historians. The main feature articles were on Luftwaffe and USAAF subjects. Each issue contained 42 A4 size glossy pages. Typically most of the contents was devoted to photogaphs - about equal b+w and colour - plus 2 pages of colour profile drawings. The first issue was dated Winter 1983, and only 5 issues were published - the last in 1987.

'PNAHF Journal'
[Pacific Northwest Aviation Historical Foundation, ISSN ?]

The Pacific Northwest Aviation Historical Foundation was established in 1964 to help with the preservation of significant aircraft and related artifacts and educating the public in terms of their importance. From 1970 it published an annual magazine, the 'PNAHF Journal' which contained miscellaneous articles on civil and military aviation in Northwest USA. Each issue had 30 pages each, illustrated with b+w photos. The PNAHF later became the Seattle-based Museum of Flight. It is not known how many issues were published, but it is thought to be at least 9.
