What's Here:

Operated by the Montrose Aerodrome Heritage Society and Montrose Air Station Heritage Trust, the museum here depicts the story of the historic Scottish aerodrome, which first opened in 1913. Housed in the former RAF Montrose station headquarters building are displays and exhibits recalling the activities of the RFC and RAF at the base. There is also a growing collection of well looked after military vehicles here, including a Landrover and a Green Goddess fire engine. A new-build Romney-style hangar and a Nissen hut were opened in April 2007, and these have greatly expanded the available space for exhibits and restoration work.

Opening Hours:

Open Sundays 12.00 noon to 4.00 pm, all year round, plus Wednesday to Saturday 10.00 to 4.00 pm 1st April to 30th September. Other times by prior appointment.
