Dear Sir/Madam,
This summer whilst on holiday I stopped off at your museum and had a very pleasant look round aided by Les Stedman, a very pleasant and knowledgeable man.
My reason for contacting you is that I have copies of the flying logbook to a pilot, S/Ldr. P. B. Chamberlain who won the Sword of Honour in 1936. His details are,

PAUL BURTON CHAMBERLAIN
Squadron Leader 33229 Pilot 75 Squadron., Royal Air Force
who died on Sunday 12 October 1941 . Age 25 .
Additional Information: Son of Horace and Gladys Chamberlain; husband of Florence Margaret Chamberlain. Awarded Sword of Honour, R.A.F. College, Cranwell, 1936. Cemetery: DINANT (CITADELLE) MILITARY CEMETERY Dinant, Namur, Belgium

As well as the logbook, I have copies of his assessments whilst at Cranwell. I would like to know if you would like me to e-mail you some photos of the logbook etc. in case you wish to display them in the museum? If so could you forward me an e mail address to which I can send them.
Kind Regards,
Russ

I am looking forward to visiting the Cranwell museum in the next few weeks. Whilst as a guard on National Service in 1949 I got access to one of the hangars to find a virtual treasure trove of aircraft! Me262, Me163, He 162, Jap baka suicide bomb, V2 rocket, V1 doodlebug and a host of other aircraft of the era. I often wonder what happened to them all. Anyway after my forthcoming visit I will be dropping into Duxbury to see what they are up to now! 3117768 AC1 Horton.....
