What’s Here

Built in the 1860s, this coastal defence fort is set in 10 acres of grounds, with plenty of underground tunnels and bunkers to explore. There are excellent views of the coast and of passing ferries. Within the grounds is a display by the Robertsbridge Aviation Society, together with exhibitions on the Royal Observer Corps and Air-Sea Rescue.

Between Brighton and Eastbourne on the A259. Close to the mouth of the River Ouse, signposted from Newhaven.
