What’s Here

The Jetstream Club is a non-profit organisation, initially formed to preserve and maintain the fourth prototype Jetstream 41, G-JMAC, built by BAE SYSTEMS at Prestwick. Additional aircraft were acquired later. The aircraft are permanently located on the apron of the elegant art deco style Speke Airport terminal building, which is now the Marriot Hotel – Liverpool South. G-JMAC has been converted into a ‘flight simulator’ so that it is possible to ‘fly’ the aircraft from the cockpit. The club is keen to use the aircraft to help educate people about the North-West’s aviation heritage and aviation in general. School visits are welcomed by arrangement (12 pupils max) as are other groups for similar activities.

Not owned by the Jetstream Club, De Havilland D.H.89 Dragon Rapide Full-Scale Model ‘G-ANZP’ can also be found in front of the main entrance to the hotel. (The airport apron is to the rear of the hotel).
