Location: RAF Wadington, Lincs.
Country: United Kingdom
Year: 2011
Date: 2-3 Jul
Category: Public Airshow

Description

One of the highlights of this year’s Waddington air show is expected to be the USAF Thunderbirds demonstration team. Appearances by the Thunderbirds on this side of the Atlantic are relatively rare, and the precision close-flying demonstrated by this team is sure to wow the crowds. Also promised is a RAF Tornado GR.4 tactical demonstration, B-17 Sally B and the Hunters of Team Viper. The ever popular Vulcan will make another star turn.

Also expected to appear will be a number of other classic jets, civilian display acts and modern military aircraft.

Unlike some other shows, the aircraft static park at Waddington is normally very well laid out for photography. This year, visitors will get a chance to see the home-based RAF E-3D Sentry and Sentinel R.1, as well as a pair of AMI Typhoons and a number of civilian-owned Auster aircraft, amongst other types.
