What’s Here

Located close to Bristol Docks on the River Avon, the museum concentrates on the industrial history of the Bristol area. Among the aviation exhibits are a Bristol Sycamore helicopter and a ‘walk-through’ Concorde engineering mock-up. A large collection of Bristol aero engines are on show – many restored by the Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust, Bristol Branch.

Directions

On Prince’s Warf, south of the A4044 inner ring road. Well signed from the city centre with car parking nearby.

Opening Hours:

This museum closed for refurbishment on 29 October 2006, and is expected to reopen in 2011 as the Museum of Bristol.

Hanging in the foyer to the museum is a reproduction Bristol Boxkite, which featured in the film ‘Those Magnificent Men and Their Flying Machines’. The rest of the museum features a wide range of local, historical and natural history topics.
