History
The unit was formed on 7.2.1925 but received its first aircraft, two CANT 18 and one CANT 21, only on 24.9.1930. In 1942 the service received some Sikorsky OS2U-3 Kingfisher and Fairchild PT-23A training aircraft from the United States in return for base facilities. The unit was renamed Aviación Naval in 1951.

History
The unit was formed on 15.8.1944 at the small airport of Angel Adami from which flight operations commenced, with some PT-23A. In 1947 the new Base Aeronaval No.2 Capitan Carlos Curbelo became operational and the school moved to its present location.
