History
The unit was formed on 7.2.1925 but received its first aircraft, two CANT 18 and one CANT 21, only on 24.9.1930. In 1942 the service received some Sikorsky OS2U-3 Kingfisher and Fairchild PT-23A training aircraft from the United States in return for base facilities. The unit was renamed Aviación Naval in 1951.
