  1. The Bell 205 entered service with BPS whilst I was employed by the service as a helicopter engineer. I joined in April 1976 and left in October 1977. My recollection is that the aircraft arrived in 1977. It was definitely there before I left. I flew In it several times on test flights.
The Mculloch J2 was also there when I joined in April 76. I flew in it with the pilot in charge if the flying wing, Pip Travell. In 1977 it had an engine malfunction and landed on a mud beach at low water. It could not be recovered befor the water rose to a level half way up the cockpit. It did not fly again. It is now on display at the Helicopter museum at Weston Super Mare, UK.
