History

The unit traces back its history to the 2 Escuadrilla de Caza, which was formed in 1933 with 5 Fiat CR.20. The unit was disbanded in 1949 and was only reformed in 1991 with six Lockheed AT-33A donated from Taiwan. The aircraft are jointly used by the Escuadrillas "Taurus" and "Scorpio". The unit was disbanded in 2007 and most of its aircraft are stored at Base Aérea Silvio Pettirossi IAP.
