Unit History


No.1 (Rhodesian) Squadron

On 19 September 1939 the two flights of aircraft deployed by the SRAU to Kenya were renamed No.1 (Rhodesian) Sqn. The Air Unit officially became the Southern Rhodesia Air Force. In April 1940, the sqn was redesignated No.237 (Rhodesian) Sqn and absorbed in to the Royal Air Force.
