Curtiss-Wright CW-22-57 Falcon
One Curtiss-Wright CW-22 obtained from the Inter-Continent Corporation at Mingaladon in mid-1941.

One D.H.60G Moth, formerly with the Rangoon Flying Club, obtained upon the creation of the BVAU.

de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth
Two Tiger Moths obtained from the Government of India (ex-civil) to serve as initial equipment for the BVAU in mid 1940. Five more delivered in crates from the UK aboard the SS Burma. Assembled November 1940-January 1941. Two additional aircraft obtained from Australia in mid 1941. Total of 9 acquired.

Lockheed 12A
Two Lockheed 12A operated by the Comm Flight at Dum Dum, for VIP transport. Obtained from unoccupied Burma just before the move to Dum Dum. Still in service in November 1942.

Lockheed 14 Hudson
One Hudson was found abandoned at Magwe and taken over by the BVAF. It was unserviceable due to a missing propeller, but after fitting a propeller from a Buffalo, it was successfully flight tested and used to evacuate personnel to India. After two weeks use the original owners returned and reclaimed it.

North American NA-64 Yale
Two NA-64 Yale obtained from the Chinese Nationalist Air Force (CNAF) in November 1941. Collected by air from Kunming in China by BVAF pilots. Both were rather well-used and required an overhaul before entering service.

Westland Lysander II
Two Lysander II obtained in March 1942 to make up for losses during the retreat from Burma. One aircraft ex-No.28 Sqn and the other from No.1 Sqn IAF found at Magwe and taken over. Three more aircraft obtained from unoccupied Burma just before the move to Dum Dum.
