Unit History


No.1 Fighter Squadron
Role: Fighter-Bomber

No.1 Squadron started life as a Fighter-Bomber Flight equipped with three Spitfire XVIIIs transferred in April 1948 from RAF Air Command South East Asia (ACSEA).

Was the first unit to become operational on 3 May 1991 with 10 F-7Ms and two FT-7Ms. At least some of the unit's aircraft have been upgraded by Israeli companies, hence the I for Israel designation prefix.
