Formed as a separate unit, with HH-43Bs taken from the Mingaladon Helicopter Squadron.

Although a civilian airfield, one MAF unit was reportedly based at Sittwe some years ago. Presumably, this unit was deactivated when the HH-43Bs were withdrawn from use.
