One Chengdu F-7 Squadron becoming operational in May 1993. This unit converted onto the MiG-29 Fulcrum in 2002. This unit may have a detachment of MiG-29s at Mingaladon AFB, as all reported sightings have occurred at that particular air base. Four MiG-29s were observed at Mingaladon in November 2005.
