Unit History

Liaison Squadron
Role: VIP/Light Transport

This squadron performs flights for high-ranking government officials and MAF officers. A few of the Queen Airs received around 1966 are said to remain in service. Four of the 10 piston-engined Cessna 180Ds received in 1957 were reportedly still in service in 2001. This is unlikely, as all remaining piston-engined aircraft, such as the DHC-3 Otters and SIAI SF.260WBs, were withdrawn from use around 1989/1990 due to difficulties in obtaining avgas. One Citation is used for VIP-flights and aerial surveillance duties.
