One ex-civil aircraft impressed into the Sherut Avir in November 1947. One more example obtained in England in December 1947 by H. Fredkins. Two examples purchased by Boris Senior in 1948 in South Africa under 'Pan African Air Charter' colours. First aircraft delivered May 1948, second aircraft (G-AKOI) impounded in Egypt May 1948. Used by ? sqn for VIP transport and light bomber roles. Five in use by 9 Sept 1948. Serial range 1301+. Withdrawn when? Two aircraft used to form Arkia Airlines late 1949. No Hebrew name given.

De Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk * Retired *
One aircraft delivered from Canada by May 1949. Chipmunks built in Canada prior to construction number 101-139 all featured the early 'greenhouse' canopy. Used by FTS for evaluation as a primary trainer. Withdrawn shortly after evaluation completed. No Hebrew name given.
