Piper Cub
Two 'Piper L-4 Cub' delivered on US freighter 'Enterprise' on 19 August 1948. 18 more Cubs delivered by 9 September 1948, but not yet assembled. They have been described in various references as 'J3C Cub' or 'L-4H/L-4J', but both these variants had the engine cylinder heads protruding from the engine cowling and a glazed fuselage behind the wing trailing edge - whereas photos of Israeli Cubs clearly show neither feature. In fact they feature the rounded rear window of the civil model.

Used by the Galilee, Negev and Tel Aviv Squadrons for liaison/AOP. Later operated by 100 Squadron. 15 still in service in 1956. No Hebrew name given.
