Nanchang CJ-6 * Current *
Twenty CJ-6 (or 'BT-6') delivered from China in 1962. Chinese built version of the Yak-18U, also referred to as the Type T-61. Used by the Air Academy (4004 Regiment) at Vlorë for the basic training role. At least half of these aircraft were withdrawn from service in the mid 1990s and stored at Vlorë. The CJ-6A later production version was not supplied.

At least one CJ-6 was destroyed during the riots of March 1997, and many others were damaged. Four CJ-6s were restored to flying condition by the Aviation Maintenance Factory at Kucova by April 2004 for use by the Air Academy, and another five are planned to be overhauled subsequently.
