Aviation Regiment 4030 (1875 Regiment)

Aviation Regiment 4030 was first established on 15 May 1955 when Kucova air base was officially opened. 4030 Regt was formerly known as 1875 Regt, before it was renumbered in the early 1990s. The unit comprised three squadrons, which had all disbanded by 2000. In 2001 the 4030 Regt merged with the Air Academy at Vlore to form the Akademia e Forcave Ajrore. A single squadron now performs all flying training.

Fighter squadron.
This squadron was first established in May 1955 to operate the MiG-15. In the 1960s it re-equipped with the Shenyang F-6. It was disbanded in 2000 and the aircraft placed in storage.

Fighter squadron.
This squadron was first established in 1955 to operate the MiG-15. In 1962 it re-equipped with the Shenyang F-5 (MiG-17F). It was disbanded in 2000 and the MiG-15s put into storage. One F-5 and a pair of FT-5s went to the Training Squadron.

This squadron was first established in 1965? to operate the Shenyang F-6. It was disbanded circa 1991 in the post-communist re-organisation. The F-6s were placed in storage.

This squadron was established in the 1960s to operate the F-6. In October 1976 it was transferred to 4010 Regt at Lezhė-Zadrima (Gjadėr).

Advanced pilot training/Fighter-Ground Attack.
This squadron was initially a dual-role operational and training unit for the Air Force Academy at Vlorė. In the re-organisation of the early 1990s it was placed under Vlorė command (4004 Regt) as a dedicated training unit. It 1997 it reverted to 4030 Regt control. In 2000 the MiG-15s were put into storage and replaced by a single F-5 and three FT-5s. Four CJ-6s were added later.
