The unit was formed on 9.12.1975.
Escuadrón IV de Ataque
Role: Attack.
The unit was formed in 12.1981 with four
I.A. 58A Pucará
(A-540,A-551,A-557,A-558). A-540 crashed on
24.5.1982 and the unit received three additional aircraft (A-559,A-565,A-566)
after the Falklands War and operated six
Pucará on 9.9.1982. In 1984 the
squadron got another four aircraft (A-560,A-569,A-573,A-574).
In 8.1990 the unit received two aircraft (A-568,A-580) as replacement for loses.
The squadron was however disbanded on 1.1.1991 and its aircraft joint those of Grupo 3 de Ataque
at BAM Reconquista.
