Role: Fighter.
The unit was formed
on 4.1.1945 from the disbanded
Regimiento Aéreo 2.
From 1947 the unit was known as Agrupación Aérea de Combate
at Base Aérea Militar El Plumerillo. On 21.2.1948 the
regiment became Regimiento 2 de Caza again and after a reorganisation on 9.1.1951
Grupo 1 de Caza.
