Servicio de Aviación de Prefectura Naval Argentina (Air Service of the
Argentinian Naval Prefectura)
Brief History:
The Aviation Service dates back to December 1946, when a
group of pilots was recruited to perform PNA functions.
The Division Aviación of the Prefectura Naval was
established in 1951 with three amphibian aircraft for fishery control.. During 1962 the
unit was renamed Servicio de Aviación.
The assigned aircraft and helicopters are used in
maritime and river surveillance, search and rescue
operations, medical evacuations, control of illegal activities within the
Argentine Economic Exclusive Zone and fisheries control in jurisdictional
waters.

| The main marking is displayed in 2 positions
on each side of the fuselage on aircraft and on helicopters. Usually the
inscription "PREFECTURA NAVAL" is written on the fuselage
sides. The fin flash is displayed on the tailfin. |
