Escuadrón de Rescate "Aquilas"
Role: Transport, SAR, Liaison.
The
Escuadrón de Rescate was formed on the 15.4.1958. She is the prime user of
helicopters in the
Dominican Republic Air Force and is used for SAR, transport, VIP
transport for the President, liaison, anti-narcotics and desaster relieve
operations. The unit is in desperate need of new helicopters, which arrived
in the form of 8 Bell UH-1H from the United States in 2004.
