Escuadrón de Caballeria Aérea

Role: Assault, Observation, Liaison.

The Escuadrón de Caballeria Aérea (Airborne Cavalry Squadron) were formed in October 2002 to use the aquired Robinson helicopters and from March 2003 the four OH-58A. With the imminent closure of its base the unit will move to the newly-built Aeropuerto Internaciónal La Isabela, near Higuero in 2005. The unit is composed of Compañia A, which operates the OH-58A/C and Compañia B, which operates the Robinsons.
