The Cuerpo de Aviación Naval was activated in December 1951 with one RC-3 Seabee. In February 1952 they received 4 PBY-5A from the United States. The Naval Aviation Corps was only disbanded on the 3 November 1952 and the aircraft were integrated into the Cuerpo de Aviación Militar Dominicana. In November 2003 the Aviación Naval de Marina de Guerra was reactivated with the arrival of an OH-58A Kiowa only to be disbanded again on 1.5.2010.
