Escuadrón de Combate 2312 "Tiburones"
Role: COIN/Attack.
The unit became operational as Escuadrón Táctico 12 with
Lockheed T-33A in 1957 as a unit of Grupo Aérea de Taura, when enough Lockheed
F-80C were available for operations with
Escuadrón Táctico 14. Survivors began an IRAN overhaul in Colombia during
1978, before forming the Escuadrón de Combate 2312 at Manta in 1982. The unit was disbanded in 1996, after 40 years of service of the T-33A
with the FAE.

Escuadrón de Combate 2313 "Halcones"
Role: COIN/Attack.
The unit was formed on 20.10.1979 to operate the Strikemaster
aircraft. The BAC- 167 were previously operated by the Escuadrón de Combate
2113 at Taura. In 2010 the unit was reequpped with Embraer A-29B Super Tucano.
