Unit History
Escuadrón de Combate 2112 "Mirage"
Role: Fighter/Attack.
The unit became operational as Escuadrón Táctico 14 with
Lockheed F-80C/T-33A in January 1957 as a unit of Grupo Aérea de Taura. When
enough Lockheed F-80C were available the Lockheed T-33A Shooting Star
formed at new squadron at BA Taura,
Escuadrón Táctico 12. The unit was
renumbered Escuadrón de Caza-Bombardeo 2112 in
1966. From 1975 till 1979 the squadron operated A-37B. The unit
was reequipped in 1978 with the recently procured
Mirage F-1JA. In late 2009 the squadron received six Dassault Mirage 50DV/50EV
from Venezuela.
