TAME (Transportes Aéreos
Militares Equatorianos)
Role: Civil Transport.
TAME was formed on the 17.12.1962 as an initiative of the Ecuadorian Air Force
in order to make available to the people, an air service to cover routes to the
country's main cities, as well as to other places where due to the low demand
for services, were not being served with the necessary frequency by established
local airlines. The aircraft have previously worn both civil registrations and
military serials, but the aircraft delivered from 1985 appear to be using
civil registrations only. In 1990 TAME became an administratively and fancially
independent state-owned company attached to the Ecuadorian Air Force.
