The Country

Geography:

Ecuador lies in western South America, bordering the Pacific Ocean at the Equator between Colombia and Peru. The country borders Colombia to its north and Peru to its east and south. It is located between 75° to 81° western geographic longitude and 2° northern geographic latitude to 5° southern geographic latitude and has an area of 276,840 square kilometres (106,888 square miles). The latitude and longitude of the capital, Quito, are about 78°30' W and 0°13' S.
