Brief History:
A naval air arm, Cuerpo de Aviadores Navales de la Armada, was formed in 1920 in Ancon.
In 1929 the air services of the Army and Navy were merged to the Cuerpo de Aeronautica del
Peru. During the Second World War Peru received large quantities of aircraft from the USA
under the Lend-Lease program. In 1950 the naval air service became an independent service
again as Servicio Aeronaval de la Marina Peruana (Peruvian Naval Aviation Service) with
headquarters in Lima/Callao IAP.

below each wing, and on each side of the fuselage) on aircraft - but on fuselage sides
only on helicopters. The fin flash is displayed on the tailfin. Usually the
inscription "NAVAL" is written on the fuselage sides |
