Brigada de Mantenimiento y Abastecimiento

The unit was formed in 1923 as División Talleres of the Escuela Militar de Aviación (EMA). On 3.1.1931 the unit became part of the Segunda División Técnica del Instituto of the EMA. The division was renamed on 31.12.1935 División Servicios. Another reorganisation took place and the División General de Talleres, Almacenes Generales y Servicios (DGTAGyS) (Workshop, Stores and Services Division) was formed on 25.4.1938 as an idependent unit. The name was again changed in April 1942 to Dirección General de Talleres, Almacenes Generales y Servicios. On 22.9.1960 the División Mantenimiento of the Dirección General de Talleres, Almacenes Generales y Servicios relocated to Base Aérea No.1 at Carrasco. After another reorganisation the unit became Brigada de Mantenimiento y Abastecimiento on 5.3.1965 composed of the Regimiento de Mantenimiento and the Regimiento de Abastecimiento subordinated to the Comando Aéreo de Material. This command was renamed Comando Aéreo Logistico on 20.12.1990 and the two regiments became Servicio de Mantenimiento and Servicio de Abastecimiento. The Brigada de Mantenimiento y Abastecimiento was reactivated on 3.8.1999 and is composed of the División Mantenimiento and the División Abastecimiento and subordnanted to the Comando Aéreo de Operaciones. At a later date the divisions were renamed Servicio de Mantenimiento and Servicio de Abastecimiento again.
