Mikoyan-Gurevitch MiG-21bis Fishbed * Current *
Three ex-JRV MiG-21bis obtained in early 1992 during Independence War. Twenty-four MiG-21bis Fishbed L delivered from 1993. Obtained from unknown source, but most likely Ukraine, Belorus or Moldova, with some German avionics fitted locally. Used by 21 & 22 ELZ for the interceptor fighter role. Initially operated without visible serial numbers. Eight upgraded by Aerostar in Romania 2003-2004 to MiG-21bisD (D=Doradjen, Improved) standard, with the remaining fleet being put into storage.

Mikoyan-Gurevitch MiG-21UM Mongol A * Current *
Four MiG-21UM in use during 1995. Four additional MiG-21UMs obtained (from Poland?) and upgraded by Aerostar in Romania 2003-2004 to MiG-21UMD (D=Doradjen, Improved) standard. Used by 21 and 22 ELZ for the conversion training role.
