Narrative Summary:
An Army aviation unit was established 1971 for observation and liaison duties, flying the Hughes 500. In 1980 an anti-tank capability was added with the arrival of the Fennec. Vandel AB closed in 2003 and both helicopter units moved to Karup, combining to become Esk 724 under RDanAF control.

Main marking
Fin Flash
The main marking was displayed on each side of the fuselage on helicopters. The fin flash was displayed on the fin. Army helicopters do not carry service titles.
Danish army helicopters used the same serialling system as the air force - a letter prefix and unique three figure number for each airframe.
