History

Narrative Summary:
The State Border Guard was created in 19?? and placed under the control of the Ministry of Interior. In 2002 a State Border Guard Aviation Service established.

Current Status:
Border Guard helicopters are used primarily for patrolling the eastern European border and other law enforcement missions.

Future Plans:
Plans announced in 2004 concerned the expected purchase of three single-engined helicopters and one twin-engined helicopter.

Markings

National Insignia:
The main marking of an inclined red/white/red stripe, with the leading stripe thicker than the others, is displayed on each side of the fuselage on helicopters. No service titles appear to be carried.
