Fairey Barracuda * Retired *
21 Boulton Paul-built aircraft used by 860 sqn June 1945 - 15 February 1946. Described as "7 Mk.II and 14 Mk.III" in the references below, but all Barracuda references state that MD811 onwards were Mk.IIIs. Royal Navy serials carried. Based in Scotland for conversion training and practicing landing on HMS Nairana. Intended for the Torpedo-bomber reconnaissance role. Training ceased when the decision was taken not to buy Barracudas for the MLD.
