Dornier Do 24K * Retired *
Six Do 24K-1 aircraft initially acquired, serials X-1 to X-6. X-1 and X-2 built by Dornier in Friedrichshafen, X-3 built by Dornier Switzerland from Friedrichshafen components, X-4 to X-6 built by Dornier Switzerland. Delivered from January 1938 to NEI. 23 more Do 24K-1 ordered from Dornier Germany, serialled X-7 to X-29, built in Switzerland. 18 more Do 24K-1 aircraft ordered from Aviolanda and De Schelde. First completed 15 June 1939. Only 7 delivered to NEI by German invasion in May 1940, serials X-30 to X-36. Total of 36 aircraft acquired. X-30 later converted to Do 24K-2 standard by Dornier Switzerland under contract dated 13 Jan 1939 and reserialled X-37. Used as maritime reconnaissance flying boat.
X-1 to X-6 ordered 3 Aug 1936, X-7 to X-18 ordered 22 July 1937, X-19 to X-24 ordered 30 May 1938, X-25 to X-29 ordered 13 Jan 1939, X-30 to X-36 ordered 13 Apr 1938. All but one of survivors to RAAF March 1942. Used by RAAF until 20 Dec 1944, although A49-5 was lost on 11 Mar 1944.

(Unfilled contracts placed with Aviolanda/De Schelde for aircraft serials X-38 to X-48 dated 10 Feb 1938, X-49 to X-61 dated 7 June 1939 and X-62 to X-73 at unknown date. These aircraft were taken over by the Luftwaffe).
