24 VS-310 (OS2U-3) aircraft serialled V-1 to V-24 ordered 1941 for use as shipboard reconnaissance floatplane. Shipped in January and February 1942 for NEI, but eventually delivered direct to Australia March 1942 as NEI finally overrun during outward voyage. 18 aircraft immediately assigned to the RAAF. Fate of the remaining six not known.
The first 7 aircraft were Naval Aircraft Factory built and the rest Vought-Sikorsky built.
