Narrative Summary:
The Slovenian Police operates a small fleet of Agusta-Bell helicopters. Helicopters have been in the Slovenian Police inventory since the Republic of Slovenia was a part of Yugoslavia. Then the official name of the Slovenian Police Aviation Unit was "Letalska Enota Milice". When the Republic of Slovenia became an independent and democratic state in 1991, the word Milice was changed to Policije, replacing the Eastern Europe term (Militia) with the more widely recognised Western Europe term.
